Bio
Funeral services for Mr. Fred Lee Monk were Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in Oakdale Bible Baptist Church, Reverends Paul Nugent and Elden Mayo officiated. Interment will follow in Cryer Cemetery. Mr. Monk, 75, of Oakdale entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 12, 2012 in his residence. He worked for J. C. Milney Construction Company for 17 years building mausoleums all over the country and was the longtime owner of Fred Monk Vaults. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sallie Monk; two brothers, David Monk and William "Bill" Monk; three sisters, Mary Roddy, Artie Mae Jeansonne and Judy Bryant. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-seven years of Oakdale; two sons and wifes; one daughter and her husband, Craig of Oakdale; two brothers and wifes; four sisters and two brothers-in-law; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Services were under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
