Bio

Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Jordan will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Zion Baptist Church, Oakdale with Reverends Jackie Bond, Keary Jordan and Robert Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhill Cemetery, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mrs. Jordan, 90, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Monday, March 20, 2017 in Oakdale Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by one son, Rube Mason Jordan. Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of sixty nine years, Nelson Jordan, of Oakdale; two sons, Robert Nelson Jordan and his wife, Gladys, of Oakdale and J.B. Jordan, of Oakdale; three daughters, Judy J. McCollough and her husband, Larry, of Oakdale, Annette Soileau, of Oakdale and Carolyn Jordan, of Oakdale; two brothers, L.B. Monk, of Sulphur and Willie Monk, of Oakdale; three sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Clover, of Alexandria, Charity A. Monk, of Oakdale and Linda Nugent, of DeQuincy; seventeen grandchildren, forty two great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Friends may call Zion Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Visitation will reopen on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Pallbearers honored to serve are: Keary Jordan, Chad Jordan, Joey Jordan, Zac Jordan, Lance McCollough, Stuart Pelt, Jason Pelt, Quinn Jordan, Kade Micelle, Kaleb Micelle and Bryce Tichey.
