Funeral services for Mary Lee Roddy will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 22, 2011 at Christ Church in Oakdale with the Rev. Greg Willis officiating. Committal service will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks, Oakdale. Mary, 88, of Elizabeth, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, in her residence. She was born on January 16, 1923 in McNary to William and Sallie Maricle Monk. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie Roman Roddy; one daughter, Shirley Jean Roddy; two sisters, Julie Bryant, Artie Mae Jeansonne and one brother, David Monk. She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, her daughter, Thelma Brown of Elizabeth; three brothers, L.B. Monk and wife, Beatrice of Sulphur, Fred Monk and wife, Violet of Oakdale, Willie Frank Monk and wife, Mildred of Oakdale; four sisters, Nellie Jordan and husband, Nelson of Oakdale, Dorothy Clover of Boyce, Linda Nugent and husband, Paul of DeQuincy, Charity Monk of Oakdale; four grandchildren, Brenda Shano and husband, George of Blackjack, Dwayne Brown and wife Constance of Elizabeth, Missy Bailes and husband, Troy of Elizabeth, Suzan Friday and husband, Pappy of Plainview; nine great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers to serve are Lynn Goleman, Timmy Shano, Ethan Bailes, Jarod Bailes, Trevor Brown and Pappy Friday.
