BENJAMIN HARRISON5 COE (William Newton4, Vincent3, Stephen2, Edward1) was born December 14, 1889, in Polk County, TN. A good looking man, he owned three farms in McMinn County and was active in Friendship Baptist Church. Active and intelligent, he wrote articles for the church and for the local paper and was noted as somewhat of a historian. He lived at Claxton and died September 5, 1957, in Chattanooga Burial was at Friendship Church Cemetery. He married April 10, 1914, in McMinn County, TN, Susie Mae Swafford, a Sunday school teacher noted for her kindness, born July 23, 1888, died October 23, 1967.
