"The Independent", Robertsdale, Alabama, Thursday, May 15, 1997 page 2a Jerry R. “Cooter” Ard, 62, a native and resident of Robertsdale, died May 12, 1997. Survivors include one sister, Betty Jo Swartzwelter of Robertsdale; two brothers, Clarence Ard of Daphne and Jack Ard of Robertsdale; one half-sister, Gay Nell Ard of Robertsdale; two half-brothers, Robert Ard of Bay Minette and Allen Ard of Elberta; two stepsisters, Gloria Swoboda and Ella Jane Davis, both of Robertsdale; and his stepmother, Mattie Ard. Services were May 14 at Mack Funeral Home’s Robertsdale chapel. Burial was in Hinote Cemetery in Robertsdale.
