Walter Abner Thomasson, 60, of Van Vleck died at 4:03 a.m. Tuesday in a Houston hospital. He had been a resident of Van Vleck for 41 years. He was a well known merchant and cattleman of that community. He was a member of the Bay City Masonic Lodge No 865. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sadie E. Thomasson of Van Vleck; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Barker of Houston, Mrs. Sadie Dodd of Van Vleck; a sister, Mrs L. B. Royder of Houston; three brothers, Charlie Thomasson of Corpus Christi, Sam and Joe Thomasson, both of Houston; a niece, Mrs. Thelma Gilland [sic] of San Antonio; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Services at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Fogle-West chapel, Dr. Elmer Ferguson officiating in Houston. Burial will be in the Wharton cemetery at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Bay City Lodge No. 865, A. F. & A. M., in charge. Active pallbearers: Lyle Royder, E. D. Daniel Jr., Osie Gilland [sic], W. F. Parker, Kent Odom, O. B. Owen. Fogle-West company directing
