Geraldine J. "Gerrie" Elliott April 8, 1923 ~ May 16, 2012 Downs Funeral Home Obituary Services for Geraldine J. Elliott, 89, of Marshall will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Father Denzil Vithanage will officiate. Interment will follow in Algoma North Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2012 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Elliott passed away May 15, 2012 in Marshall. Geraldine J. "Gerrie" "Millie" Elliott was born April 8, 1923 in Ennis, Texas to Frank Joseph and Sadie Jurcik Hubacek. She was the fifth of ten daughters. Geraldine and Merrill E."Gene" Elliott were married October 7, 1973 in Jefferson. She was an accomplished seamstress. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Elliott passed away May 16, 2012 in Marshall. Mrs. Elliott is survived by her husband Gene Elliott of Marshall; daughters, Jo Frances Askew (John) of Tool, TX and Geraldine J. McCarty (Jim) of Irving, TX; step-sons, David L. Elliott of Thousand Oak, CA and Bill Elliott (Karen) of Marshall; sisters,Sadie Kubin,Vlasta Kubin,Wilma Simms, Francis Campbell; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Sadie Hubacek; her son, Edwin D. Gillispie; and sisters, Annie Houser, Mary Arney, Rosa Nelson, Bertha Hubacek and Libby Adams. Pallbearers will be Tommy J. Henigan,Jr., David Hopkins, Wes Hopkins, Gene Younger, Bill Elliott and Jeff Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim McCarty and John Askew. Memorials can be made to ARC Sheltered Workshop of Harrison County, 2005 Warren Drive, Marshall, Texas 75672.
