Sadie Frances Hubacek Kubin, 97, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Thursday, January 7, 2016. Visitation and Rosary will begin at 2 p.m., Monday, January 11, 2016, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2 p.m. after the Rosary, Monday, January 11, 2016, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis, with Father John Dick as efficient. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. Sadie was born in Telico, Texas, to the late Frank J. and Zedenka (Jurcik) Hubacek, the third of ten daughters. She grew up in Telico and attended school in Telico. On January 17, 1937, she married Emil Kubin and they made their home in Alma. Sadie worked as a seamstress for over 30 years for Story’s Manufacturing, Adam’s and Royal Park Fashions. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, SPJST, SOKOL and the sewing circle where she had served as a past president. She was Precinct Chairman for the Democratic Party for eight years. She enjoyed bingo and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Kubin, sisters: Annie Houser, Mary Arney, Vlasta Kubin, Millie Elliott, Rose Nelson, Bertha Hubacek, Frances Campbell, and Libbie Adams. She is survived by a sister, Wilma Sims; niece and caregivers, Christine Mach and husband, Harry; along with numerous other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Ennis Daily News: 1/11/2016
