Bio
Edwin DeWayne Gillispie, 71, passed away at the Pine Terrace Nursing Home in Jefferson, Texas on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Edwin was born in Ennis, Texas to James Henry and Geraldine (Hubacek) Gillispie on July 27, 1939 and grew up in Austin. He worked at the Denton State School for eight years and lived at the Austin State School for twelve years. He enjoyed being outside collecting cans and recyleables. He loved watching road macheninery as that was what his father had done. He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Elliot and step-father Gene Elliott and two sisters; Jo Frances Askew and Geraldine J. McCarty. He is preceded in death by his father James Henry Gillispie. Graveside services will be on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Myrtle Cemetery of Ennis with Ned Mullins officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
