Bio

Wilma Catherine Sims, 90, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Monday, February 10, 2020. Wilma was born in Alma, Texas on January 21, 1930 to Frank J. and Zdenka (Juricek) Hubacek. Wilma grew up in Alma and graduated from Ennis High School in 1946. She went on to St. Paul's Nursing School where she became a Registered Nurse. On June 20, 1986 she married John L. Sims, Sr. previously she had been married to Vernon N. Goodrum until his passing. Wilma lived in Dallas from 1946 until 1983 when she moved to Ennis. Wilma worked as a RN for St. Paul's Hospital, Baylor Hospital and Claystone Manor before retiring in 1994. Wilma was a member of Anthony Drive Baptist Church, the Rebecca's and SPJST. Wilma loved her family and was proud of each and every one of them. She loved going to church and her church family; she also enjoyed reading. Wilma is survived by a son, Ronald Goodrum; daughters: Debbie Sims and Christy Sims; one grandchild, Michelle Goodrum and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Vernon D. Goodrum and John L. Simms, Sr., son, Robert Goodrum and nine sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Matt Walker officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Tool Cemetery of Tool, Texas under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. J.E. Keever Mortuary
