BOOK---Tidds of Ohio by Howard H Tidd; Pg-118 lists Ebenezer (8 Aug 1844-1905) wed Flora Humphrey in 1873; +3 children; He served in the CivilWar; then began medical training with DrAllen of Kinsman & finished this training at the Ann Arbor School of Medicine. Flora attended Oberlin College to study music. They made Clarksville thier home. ENLISTMENT--CIVIL WAR: Ebenezer Tidd Enlisted 27 Apr 1864 as a Private at the age of 19; He joined Company G, 171st Infantry Regiment Ohio on 5 May 1864; Absent, sick Company G, 171st Infantry Regiment Ohio on 23 Jul 1864. PA--Sharon Herald...23 Mar 1906 DR EJ TIDD--61: a widely known physician of this county died suddenly Saturday morning [3-17] of heart disease, at the home of Louis Young, near Transfer, where he had been call-ed by the illness of MrsYoung. The latter gave birth to a child who died shortly after DrTidd passed away. DrTidd had been a resident of Clarksville for over 35yrs & was active in the practice of his profession. He was one of the best known typhoid fever specialists in this section of the state & the cures he accompli-shed were remarkable in many cases. He was born at W.Williamsfield OH, where his mother still resides & began the practice of medicine at Andover in 1870, coming to Clarksville 2yrs later. He is also survived by his wife; a daughter Miss Nellie-at home & 2 sons: DrClyde Tidd-Mineral Ridge & DrRalph Tidd-Clarksville; 2 sister & 4 brothers. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon [3-20], Rev RC VanEman of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Clarksville Post GAR had charge of the services at the grave. [Interment-Glenwood Cem]
