Bio

Emilie Lillian Sliva was born on 10 August 1895 in Taiton, Wharton County, Texas. She was the daughter of Joseph Anton Sliva and Albina Pratka Sliva. She married William Joseph Wiesner, the son of William Frank Wiesner and Mariana Baca Wiesner, on 16 October 1913 in St. John's Catholic Church in Taiton, Wharton County, Texas. The family settled in Rowena, Runnels County, Texas where they owned a dry-goods store - "Wiesner & Pustka." William was also a U. S. Postmaster in Rowena. Emilie and William were the parents of two sons: William A. Wiesner and Jerome James Wiesner, both of whom became physicians. After her husband's 1937 death, Emilie became a nurse. She married Henry Mazur in 1962. Emilie died on 20 March 1991 in Ector County, Texas at the age of 95. She is buried beside her first husband, William Joseph Wiesner, in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Schulenburg, Texas. ~ by Linda Wiesner, niece of William J. Wiesner
