Obituary Gonzales Inquirer Feb. 28, 1973 Mrs. E. M. Thomas Services Thurs. Funeral services for Mrs. E. M. Thomas, the former Elsie Schautteet, who died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the St. David's Hospital in Austin, will be held Thursday, March 1, at 1:45 p.m, at Seydler-Hill Chapel and at 2 p.m. from St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Wenzel Lieb officiating. Interment will be in the City cemetery. Rosary will be recited tonight at 8 p.m, in the Seydler-Hill Chapel. Mrs. Thomas was born in Gonzales on July 11, 1930, the daughter of Henry and Mary Hrncirik Kocurek, natives of Praha and Shiner, respectively. She was married to E. M. Thomas and the couple had made their home at 6008 Burleson Road in Austin. She was a member of the St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church of Austin and the Gonzales Hermann Sons Lodge. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Roger Schautteet of Gonzales and David Schautteet of Dan Marcos; one step daughter, Mrs. Kay Reid of Austin; two brothers, Joe Kocurek of Austin and Emil Kocurek of Huntsville; one sister, Mrs. Mary Collins of Victoria.
