Died at 10 p.m. Friday in the home of her sister, Mrs. J. H. Adams, 645 N. 6th St. at the age of 67. She was a native of Aransas Pass, Tex., and reared in Mississippi. A member of a family long prominent in the South, she was the wife of the late Dr. H. E. Hewitt. The body will be at Hartman Funeral Home, McComb, Miss., until time for services Sunday. Religious services, are not complete but will be held in McComb Sunday, with interment in the McComb Cemetery. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Summit, Miss., Eastern Star, DAR, and Colonia Danes [sic Dames] of the XVII Century. Survivors include five sons, the Rev. William H. Hewitt, Savannah, Ga., W. W. Hewitt, Meadville, Miss., James E. Jr., Summit, Miss., Claude D., Natchez, Miss., and Dr. Ira Lee Hewitt, Baton Rouge; four sisters, Mrs. J. A. Crawford, Lake Charles, Mrs. B. Robeau, New Orleans, and Mrs. A. W. Jones, Zachary; one brother, Tommy McGehee, Baton Rouge; 15 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
