Fort Bend Herald, November 1, 2006: Funeral services for Lester Reinhold Ognoskie, age 76, of Needville, Texas are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2006, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 9018 Church St. in Needville. The Rev. Gilbert Olivarez and Dr. Dale Staggemeier will officiate, and burial will be in Frieden's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Beasley. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel in Needville. Mr. Ognoskie passed away Monday, October 30, 2006, in Richmond, Texas after a brief battle with multiple myeloma. He was born November 24, 1929 in Fort Bend County to parents, Albert and Minnie Gindorf Ognoskie. He was a lifelong resident of Fort Bend County where he was a farmer and rancher in Needville all of his life. He was an avid gardener, hunter, and fisherman and especially enjoyed San Bernard River fishing. He was also a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Beasley. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elverda Ognoskie; his parents, Albert and Minnie Ognoskie; brothers Delmus and Albert Lee; and sisters: Lenora Voight, Elda Boehemann and Minnie Mae Cacciotti. He is survived by his wife, Pat Ognoskie of Needville; daughters: Sandra Wendt and husband, Mark, of Needville; Donna Miller of Guy; Betty Elkins and husband, Leonard, of Needville; Sally Ognoskie and husband, Joey Pearson, of New Ulm; Tracy Anderson and husband, Tom, of Needville; stepchildren: Wesley Elkins and wife, Linda; Raymond and wife, Lynda Taylor of Arlington; and Elizabeth Ramsey of Fort Worth; grandchildren: Caleb, Whitney and Demi Wendt; Kellen and Chase Miller; Dylan and Megan Elkins; Brandon and Riley Anderson; step grandchildren: Chuckie, Tiffany, James, Jr. and Regina Ramsey; Hannah and Matthew Pearson; Trent and Austin Taylor; brothers: Dan Ognoskie of Orange; Larry Ognoskie of Needville; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Serving as pall bearers will be Richard Engeling, Michael Cacciotti, Jim E Voight, Caleb Wendt, Albert Voight, Jr. and William Boehnemann. Honorary pall bearers will be other nephews and grandchildren. The family requests memorials be made to Hope Lutheran Church, 7316 Ave C, Beasley, TX 77417.
