Herald Coaster, May 31, 2002: A funeral mass for Margaret Catherine Kasmir, beloved mother and grandmother, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1. Visitation is to begin at 9 a.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church with interment following at Needville Public Cemetery in Needville with the Rev. father James Ramsey as celebrant. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. with visitation to begin at 4 p.m. Friday, May 31 in the chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Serving as pallbearers are Daryl Kucera, Duane Kucera, Bert Kucera, Danny Booth, Chris Stavinoha and Jan Hensarling. Margaret was born Nov. 10, 1943 in Orchard to Joe Sr. and Jane Kucera. She worked 17 years for Randalls; she was a dear and loving wife and mother, and she will remain forever in our hearts. She passed away May 29, 2002 at her home in Fairchilds. Margaret was preceded in death on March 12, 2000 by her husband of 38 years, Leonard L. Kasmir Jr.; her father, Joe Kucera Sr.; her brother, Joe Kucera Jr.; her sister, Jean Earp and her father-in-law, Leonard Kasmir Sr. She is lovingly survived by her sons, Sheldon Kasmir and Joyce Stratman of Fairchilds and Farris Kasmir of Damon; her grandchildren, Britney Kasmir of Damon and Melissa and Holly Stratman of Fairchilds; her mother, Jane Kucera of Fairchilds; her brothers, Arnold Kucera and his wife, Earline of Fairchilds, Leonard Kucera and his wife, Janelle of Pleak and Marvin Kucera and his wife, Charlotte of Fairchilds; her sister, Evelyn Gurecky of Orchard; her mother-in-law, Eleanor Kasmir of Beasley; her brother-in-law, Roy Kasmir and his wife, Betty of Beasley; her sister-in-law, Marie Kucera of Missouri City and numerous nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd., (281) 341-8800.
