Herald Coaster, May 14, 2000: Funeral services for Leonard L. Kasmir, Jr., 61, of Fairchilds, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville, with interment following at Needville Public Cemetery in Needville. Father James Ramsey will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Danny Booth, Chris Stavinoha, Bubba Hensarling, Bud Wruck, George Kocian, David Sabrsula, Bert Kucera, and Dwayne Svatek. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Davis Funeral Chapel, 9302 Church Street in Needville. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Davis Funeral Chapel in Needville. Leonard was born Nov. 16, 1938 in Rosenberg to Leonard Victor Kasmir and Elenora Engelhardt Kasmir. He passed away from leukemia March 12, 2000 in Houston. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and best friend. He loved life, the outdoors, and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville and served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard V. Kasmir. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Margaret Kucera Kasmir of Fairchilds; sons, Sheldon Kasmir and Joyce Stratman of Fairchilds, and Farris Kasmir of Damon; grandchildren, Britney Kasmir of Damon, and Melissa and Holly Stratman of Fairchilds; his mother, Elenora Kasmir of Needville; brother, Roy Kasmir of Needville; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
