Funeral services for Arnold Leo Kucera, 78, of Needville, TX, are set for 11 AM Thursday, July 8, 2010, at First United Methodist Church, Rosenberg, TX. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX. Serving as Pallbearers will be Dwayne McKnight, Clinton McKnight, Cody McKnight, Clayton McKnight, Shane Sabrsula, and Brandon Irvin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Stuart Solomon, Bill Lecompt, Noe Landry, and John Kuykendal. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Arnold Kucera was born September 12, 1931. He died July 2, 2010, in Bay City, TX. By occupation, he was a cement mason for many years. He served in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion Rosenberg Post. Mr. Kucera was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rosenberg. He loved to fish and hunt and to spend time with his family. Survivors include his children, Dianne McKnight and husband, Curtis, of Hallettsville, TX; Bonnie Frazier and husband, Hollis, of Bay City, TX; Bert Kucera and wife, Diana, of Sargeant, TX, and Annette Irvin and husband, Carl, of Sargeant, TX; 10 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren; brothers, Leonard Kucera and wife, Janell, of Rosenberg, TX, and M.A. "Butch" Kucera and wife, Sharlet, of Fairchilds, TX; sister, Evelyn Gurecky of Orchard, TX; sister-in-law, Marie Kucera of Missouri City, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Joe F. Kucera, Sr. and Jane Mary Buzek Kucera; wife, Earline Kucera; brother, Joe Kucera, Jr.; sisters, Jean Earp and Margaret "Cookie" Kasmir; and son-in-law, Rubin Ben "Boodro" Sabrsula, Jr. Special thanks to Methodist Hospital in the Medical Center, Houston Hospice, and for the support and prayers from family members and friends.
