Herald Coaster, June 10, 1993: Funeral services for Alphonse Charlie "Bibs" Zwahr, 61, of Richmond, will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville. A rosary will be 7 p.m. Friday at the Davis Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry, Rosenberg. Burial will be at Needville Public Cemetery. Father James Ramsey will officiate. Alphonse Charlie Zwahr was born May 9, 1932 in the Brown Community of Damon. He died June 9 in Richmond. He is preceded in death by his father, Rudolph Paul Zwahr, and by a brother, Calvin Zwahr. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, LaNelle L. Zwahr of Richmond; his mother, Mary Sophie Steffek Zwahr of Richmond; two daughters, Cheryl Vitek and her husband, Arthur, of Rosenberg, and Dena Zwahr of Richmond; three sons, Gary Zwahr and his wife, Betty, of Rosenberg, Darrel Zwahr and his wife, Cynthia, of Needville, and Dwayne Zwahr of Fairchild; two sisters and their husbands, La Verne and Otto Meyen, and Mary Ann and Conroy Bezecny, all of Needville; a brother and his wife, Lawrence and Allene Zwahr of Needville; grandchildren, Christi Vitek, Dusty Vitek, Tiffany Zwahr, Morgan Zwahr, and Garrett Zwahr; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the Davis Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
