Bio

Rosenberg Herald, October 31, 1947: Mrs. Anna Mazac of Needville, Route 1, passed away at her home Monday, Oct. 20, at 5 p.m. Mrs. Mazac was born on December 3, 1871 in Moravia, Czechoslovakia. When she was 12 years old, her parents left the old country and came to Texas. Their first home was in Lavaca County, near Hallettsville. On September 10, 1888, she married Joseph Mazac and they made their home in Sublime, Colorado County. From there, they moved to Oklahoma, but after only one year they came back to Texas and settled in Bell County. In 1909, they moved to Fort Bend County, where they bought a farm where she lived until death. She reached an age of 75 years, 10 months and 17 days. The union was blessed with 8 children, 5 daughters and 3 sons. One girl and two boys preceded their mother in death. All died in infancy. Funeral services were held at the Mazac home Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. with Rev. J. R. Vilt of Needville officiating. Burial was in the Needville Public Cemetery with services under the direction of the Foerster Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Joe Horak, Pete Listak, John Stracik, Charls Pavias, Vine Pekar, and L.J. Horak. Immediate relatives who mourn her departure are her husband, Joseph Mazac; four daughters, Mrs. Albina Kaluza of Richmond, Mrs. Tracy Nawara of Rosenberg, Mrs. Mary Nawara of Needville, and Mrs. Frances Nawara of Needville; one son, John Mazac of Needville; eleven grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The Grand Lodge of the S.P.J.S.T. was represented by Mr. Ed. Marek of Fayetteville, Texas.
