Ina Mardee Grissom Wood, 74, of Farwell, died Sunday, April 25, 2004, at her home. She was born on Sept. 23, 1929, in Tulia, Texas, to Windsor and Ina Lacewell. She attended public schools in Rosedale. She studied cosmetology in Clovis. She married Herman Grissom on Dec. 25, 1949, in Artesia. They farmed in the Rhea, Texas, community north of Bovina, Texas. She was a member of he First Baptist Church of Farwell. She worked as a beautician until she retired in 1991. She married A.V. "Woody" Wood of Muleshoe on Nov. 13, 1994, in Muleshoe. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Larry Grissom of Friendswood, Texas, Royce Grissom (and wife, Karen) of Grand Junction, Colo., Don Grissom (Doris) of Grand Prairie, Texas, Faron "Chip" Grissom (Rhonda) of Loveland, Colo., and Gary Wood (Sue) of Midland, Texas; two sisters, Ruddene Crowley of Farwell and Billie Francis Parten of Hereford, Texas; two brothers, Dale Lacewell of Bryan, Texas, and Windsor "Lace" Lacewell of Ruidoso; nine grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Reagan, Calley, Callen and Cody Grissom, David Sorley and Michael Wood; and a great-grandchild, Shandon Baker. The Rev. Ken Moore and the Rev. Randy Mullin will officiate the services. Burial will be at Bovina Cemetery. Pallbearers are Justin, Brandon, Cody and Callen Grissom, David C. Sorley, Michael Wood, Shandon Baker, Greg Actkinson and Chad Griswold. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe.
