Banner Press , Columbus, Texas, September 23, 1999: Services for Julius Edward Zurek, 83, of Wallis were held Sept. 15 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, with the Rev. Al Wasch officiating. Burial followed at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Wallis. Zurek died Sept. 12 in Bellville. He was born Aug. 18, 1915, in Wallis, Texas, the son of John and Magdalena Pazderny Zurek. He was raised in Wallis and attended Guardian Angel Catholic School in Wallis and Massey Business College in Houston. Zurek was united in marriage with Lucille Klecka on Oct. 24, 1939 at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis. He worked for Duval Sulphur Company in Orchard and was a member of KJT, KD (Catholic Workman), officer in the Knights of Columbus, and Guardian Angel Catholic Church where he served as an usher and on the board. Zurek was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, his twin, August Zurek, and Frank Zurek; and a sister, Annie Holecek. Survivors include his wife; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cornelia and Joe Hinze of Sealy, and Jeraldine Szymanski of Wallis; grandchildren, Jeff Szymanski and his wife Sarah, and Jonathon Szymanski, all of Austin, Greg Hinze of Huntsville, Amy Fogle and her husband, George of El Campo; and great-grandchildren, Jessica, Carlton and Lucy Fogle. Pallbearers were Jeff and John Szymanski, Greg and Joe Hinze, George Fogle and Lawrence Holecek. Knesek Family Funeral Chapel, Wallis, Texas
