Bio

Flatonia - Charley J. Vinklarek of Cistern passed away Saturday, October 7, 1967 in a Temple hospital at the age of 51 years, 3 months and 4 days. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Oct. 9 at 9:00 a.m. from the Smith Funeral Home in Flatonia, followed by continued services at 9:30 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Cistern. Interment was in Cistern Catholic Cemetery. Officiating at the services was Rev. Allen M. Black, assisted by Rev. T.T. Janysek of Falls City, and Rev. Emil Vinklarek. Serving as pallbearers were Felix Janecka of Waelder, Henry Migl, Delphin Janecka, A.D. Vinklarek, all of Cistern, Alfons Chilek of Yoakum, and Bernard Vinklarek of Houston. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clement Vinklarek of Cistern; six brothers, Alexander, Cyril, Clement Jr., and Adolph Vinklarek all of Cistern, Victor Vinklarek of El Paso, Willie Vinklarek of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Agnes) Matocha of Kovar, Mrs. Julie Peters of Ganado. Born in Gonzales County near Hochheim July 3, 1916 Charley Vinklarek had been a store operator in Cistern during the last 20 years. He entered the U.S. Army in 1939, and served six years.
