Christine Wright Barnes , 89 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, February 28th, 2012 at the Somerwoods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Somerset. Christine was born on September 22nd, 1922 in the Lick Creek community of Pike County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Stella Smith Wright and Henry Wright. She was a homemaker and member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church. She loved gardening, sewing, canning, and her Church. Christine was survived by three sons, George H. Jr. (and Donna) Barnes, Glyn (and Debbie) Barnes, and William "Coon" (and Glenda) Barnes; one daughter, Anna (and Roy) Hines; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Millie (and Russell) Creech; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stella and Henry Wright; her husband, George Henry Barnes Sr., whom she married on October 7th, 1944 in London, Kentucky; four brothers, Everett Wright, Charlie Wright, Riley Wright, and Steven Wright; and one sister, Kathleen Lenvil. Visitations were held on Thursday, March 1st, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 2nd, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Phelps officiating.
