SN - Seaman, United States Navy, Veteran, William Riley Wright , 78 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, August 28th, 2010 at his residence. William was born in Shopville, Kentucky on October 21st, 1931 to the late Henry Monroe Wright and Stella Smith Wright. He was a United States Navy veteran and worked as a machine operator for Diamond International of Norwood, Ohio and Seasongood of Harrison, Ohio. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, his dog "Orphan Annie", walking through the fields to enjoy the view, and his grandsons. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. William was survived by his wife, Myrtle "Helen" Turner Wright, whom he married on May 6th, 1961 at the Mount Carmel Freewill Baptist Church; a son, Stanley W. Wright of Colorado; a daughter, Sharron Wright of Frankfort, Kentucky; two sisters, Christine Barnes of Somerset, Kentucky and Mellia (and Russell) Creech of the Acorn-Ano community of Pulaski County, Kentucky; a grandson, Jeremy Trentman; and like a grandson, Quillan Short. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Monroe and Stella Wright; three brothers, Everett Wright, Charley Wright, and Steven Wright; and a sister, Kathelene Linville. Visitations were held on Monday, August 30th, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31st, 2010 in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. William Brown officiating. Interment followed in the Short Creek Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
