Bio

Mellia Wright Creech , 87 years of age, of Ano, Kentucky, departed this life at her residence in the presence of her loving family on Sunday, June 16th, 2013. Mellia was born in Shopville, Kentucky on October 18th, 1925, daughter of the late Henry and Stella Smith Wright. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, and especially spending time with her family and friends. Mellia was survived by her husband of 69 years wonderful years, Russell Creech; sister-in-laws, Helen Wright, Fern Wright, Sue Caldwell, and Myrtle Creech, all of Somerset, Kentucky; three sons, Russell Jr. (and Cheryle) Creech and James "Bo" Creech, both of Somerset, Kentucky, and David (and Rayma) Creech of Jamestown, Kentucky; grandchildren, Russell Creech III, Rusty (and Angie) Creech, Holly (and Bobby) Head, Rebecca (and Jordon) Jones, and Brent Creech, all of Somerset, Kentucky, and Derick Creech of Ohio; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and Doug (and Sarah) Turner whom she loved as her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Stella Wright; four brothers, Everett Wight, Charles Dicky (and Mary) Wright, Riley Wright, and Steven Wright; and two sisters, Kathleen (and Rawley) Linville and Christine (and George) Barnes. Visitations were held at the Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19th, 2013. Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 19th, 2013 in the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. David Hawk and Rick Lawson officiating. Burial followed in the Short Creek Cemetery. THIS IS A TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF MELLIA, I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an after glow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
