She died this morning in a local hospital. Obit-Gonzales Inquirer Feb. 7, 1973 pg. 1 Miss Anna Bartels Services Held Today Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, from the Seydler-Hill Chapel for Mrs. Anna Marie Bartels, who died in Holmes Community Hospital at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. John Will Ward of Nixon officiated at the last rites with burial taking place in the City cemetery. Mrs. Bartels was born in Germany on January 12, 1889, the daughter of Frederick and Minna Koderich Rocber, natives of that country. She was married to Willie Bartels who preceded her in death on July 27, 1918. A former resident of Gonzales, she had spent the last three years in a nursing home in Nixon. She was a member of the First Lutheran church. Survivors are one brother, Henry Roeber of Gonzales; and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Foster, Gonzales; and Mrs. Hettie Will of Houston.
