Obit-Gonzales Inquirer Oct. 25, 1969 Roeber Rites Scheduled For Sunday Last rites will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. from the Seydler-Hill Chapel for Max W. Roeber, who died Friday at 8:30 p.m. in the Crews Hospital. The Rev. Allen Collins, pastor of the First Lutheran church, will conduct the rites with burial to follow in the Hermann Sons cemetery. Mr. Rober was born in Germany on April 1, 1889. He was the son of Minna Koderisch and Friedrich W. Roeber, natives of Germany. He had lived in the county for some 80 years , moving to the city about 20 years ago. A member of the First Lutheran church, he was married to Elsa Korff on July 31, 1918, the couple living at 1209 St. Peter Street at the time of his death. A retired farmer and rancher, he had been a member of the Hermann Sons Lodge for 50 years and of his church for 80 years. Survivors include his widow; two sons, Raymond Roeber of Gonzales; Walter W. Roeber of Monahans; four grandchildren, Phillip Roeber of Gonzales; Robert, Susan and Dougas Roeber of Monahans; four sisters, Mrs. Edwin Windwehen, Mrs. Willie Bartels, Mrs. Robert Foster, all of Gonzales; Mrs. Gottlieb of Houston; and one brother, Henry Roeber of Gonzales. His nephews will serve as his pallbearers.
