Bio
The following is taken directly from the Ottumwa Courier: Mrs. Hazel D. Reynolds, 78, of Sunnyslope Extended Care Center, died at 1:55 a.m. today at St. Joseph Hospital. She had been ill for the last several months. She was the retired owner of the Rest Haven Nursing Home. She was born at Malvern July 16, 1895, the daughter of Ben and Jennie McFall Schipper. She lived in Ottumwa for about 35 years. She was a member of the Davis Street Christian Church. She married James Reynolds who preceded her in death, Dec 12, 1949. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs Sue Ward of Ottumwa; two grandchildren; three brothers, Fred Schipper of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Lyle Schipper of Denver and Ben Schipper of Indianola; and two sister, Mrs. Alice Cox of Lynwood, Calif., and Mrs. Lucille Findley of Torrance, Calif. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Funeral arrangements are pending at Jay Funeral Home.
