Bio

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. at Mansfield Funeral Home for Lawrence Schipper, the Rev. Hugh Shiveley conducting them. Casket bearers were Adrian, Benny and Tom Schipper, Larry Ronk, Robert Hawn and Kenneth Twaddle. Honorary bearers were Orville Durbin, Earl Dashner, Henry Wax, Dale Bell, Jack Haney, John Waller, Wallace Hodges, Guy Haynie, Floyd Blackman and Ellis Grindle. Caring for the flowers were Mrs. Harold Grindle, Mrs.Lyle Williams and Mrs. Dale Dalton. Music was furnished by Mrs. Austin Bass, pianist, and Mrs. Charles Costello who sang "Beyond the Sunset." The following life sketch was read: Lawrence Ward Schipper was born in Mills county Jan. 29, 1892 and departed this life Dec. 14, 1965 at Red Oak. He was engaged in farming his entire life in Mills and Montgomery counties. On Jan. 3, 1915, he was united in marriage to Daisy M. Garrett. To this union were born three children: Clyde of Bakersfield, Calif.; Mrs. Helen Ronk of Emerson and Mrs. Maxine Shook Denver, Colo., who survive. Also surviving are six grandchildren, four brothers, four sisters, and a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy, and two grandchildren.
