Bio

Sallie Clemons, age 50, died in a Waco hospital on Tuesday, December 20, 1949. She was born October 14, 1879 and had lived in the McGregor and Crawford communities for the past 40 years. Burial was in Osage Cemetery by Amsler Funeral Home. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Ora Sanders of McGregor, Mrs. Josie Lee Elder of Ranger, Mrs. Nellie Kelton of McGregor, Mrs. Willie Mattlage of Crawford, and Mrs. Velma Smith of Alvin; two sons, C.W Clemons of McGregor and J.O. Clemons of Waco; three sisters, Mrs. Josie Akins of Oklahoma, Mrs. Cora Moore of Amarillo, and Mrs. Maggie Bauhnam of Dallas; one brother, Tom Whitlock of Mart. Her husband James Obie Clemons (1876-1935), preceded her in death. McGregor Mirror: Dec. 23, 1949
