Bio
Nancy E. (Elizabeth) Bishop was the daughter of Unknown (perhaps Robert) and Sarah 'Sallie' Jane Bishop. There are two 1850 Census' with a Nancy listed on them. The first one being in District 10, Warren, Tennessee. She is the daughter of Sally Bishop age 24. Nancy is listed as age 1. Sally also has two sons, John H age 5 and Curtis, age 2. Mr Bishop does not appear with the family on the 1850. There is a Thomas Whitlock age 21 living on the Hulit farm next door. The other suspect 1850 Census is in District 2, Robertson, Tennessee. Nancy age is listed as age 8/12 (the Census date is 10 Sept 1850) the parents are James age 27 and Elizabeth Hughlett 23. (Robertson County is about 100 miles from Warren County Tennessee). The Hughlett's also have two sons, John H age 6 and Thomas, age 3. The 1860 Census in Warren County, Tennessee shows a Isaac Brown 43 with his wife Sarah 38, listed with 9 children. Including John 15, Curtis 12 and Nancy 10. I contend that the Sallie on the 1850 Warren, Tennessee is the same Sarah that married Isaac Brown in Warren, Tennessee. Isaac was first married to Elizabeth. After his first wife, Elizabeth's death. Isaac married Sarah Bishop on June 2, 1856 in Warren County, Tennessee. Isaac brought four children to the marriage, Sallie, bought her two sons and a daughter. Sallie and Isaac were the parents of five children. Three sons and two daughters. I did find a Nancy Brown who married LC Hulett on 10 Nov 1870, in Warren, Tennessee. This may add to the confusion of Nancy Heughlett. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Information provided by Dee Winter Nancy E and Isaac Denton married in Warren County, Tennessee on March 18, 1874. The 1900 Census showed they had 7 children, five of whom were living at the time. They were Thomas, Josie, Sallie, Cora and Maggie Whitlock.
