Obituary Gonzales Inquirer Nov. 7, 1957 Funeral is Held For Mrs. Patek Mrs. Barbara Patek died in the Holmes Memorial hospital Saturday at 21:15 a.m. Services were held Sunday from the Seydler Funeral home at 3 p.m. with the Rev. John Newton of the First Presbyterian church of Victoria in charge. Burial was in the Odd Fellows cemetery. Mrs. Patek was bon on November 28, 1870, on a ship at sea. She was enrout to America with her parents, Jacob and Mary Kasper Vackar, from Czechoslovakia, their birthplace. She was married to John Patek and the two had for many years made their home at 1004 Mitchell. R. Patek preceded her in death. Survivors include three sons, William of Gonzales; Raymond of Victoria; and James, Jr., of Beaumont; four daughters, Miss Lillian Patek, who made her home with her mother; Mrs, H. W. Scott, Mrs. Sam Boothe, both of Corpus Christi; Mrs. Jack Mczcabe of Victoria; nine grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Charles and Laddie Vackar, both of Gonzales; and a sister, Miss Katie Vackar of California.
