Bio

The 1900 US Census shows that Earl was born July 1886. Subsequent census records for 1910, 1920, and 1930 would consistently show that he was born in 1886, based on his birthdate in July falling after the official census dates for those years. His WWI draft registration also shows his date of birth as 12 July 1886. His WWII draft registration and Social Security records though show he was born on 12 July 1887. Both his WWI and WWII draft cards show he was born in Warren County, consistent with newspaper mentions of the family there until about 1895 when they were mentioned as visiting Surrey from Abingdon. Surrey is midway between Cameron and Coldbrook and to the east along the Santa Fe railroad. Earl was the son of Henry Miner and Lidia Virginia Burkholder. It was the 3rd marriage for Henry (not including one mentioned in the 1877 Surrey news column for which no official record was found), and the second for Lydia. Earl married Hazel Dell Johnson. They were the parents of Margaret, Mary, and Robert.
