James Seaborn Monroe Coker married Panola McClanahan on September 21, 1895, in Delta County, Texas. ******************************************************************* OBITUARY FROM THE PAULS VALLEY ENTERPRISE, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Thursday, October 31, 1963 J. C. COKER, PIONEER, DIES J. C. Coker, 86, a pioneer resident of Garvin county, died Wednesday night at his home in Pauls Valley. He lived most of his life in the Elmore City area. He was born Aug. 8, 1877 in Texas and moved to Fort Towson, Okla., in 1901. He came to Garvin county in 1910 and was a farmer and stockman in the Elmore City area until he retired in 1954. He lived in Lawton from 1956 until last March when he moved to Pauls Valley. He lived at 612 East Charles in Pauls Valley at time of his death. He was a member of the First Baptist church in Elmore City. Funeral services will be in the Elmore City First Baptist church at 3 p.m. Saturday with Rev. James V. Gray of Oklahoma City, former pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in the Elmore City cemetery under direction of Vaughn Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Panola Coker; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Beaty of Pauls Valley and Mrs. Golden Buzbee of Lawton; three sons, Clyde of Upland, Calif., Chester of Baldwin Park, Calif., and Gervis of Lexington, Okla.; two brothers, W. D. Coker of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Henry Coker of Fort Towson; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
