NELSON, VIOLET OLGA ERIKA Date of Birth: 13 Apr 1908 Place of Birth: MINNESOTA Mother Maiden Name: BRANSON certid# 2000-MN-030805 Date of Death: 16 Nov 2000 County of Death: CHISAGO November 23, 2000 Chisago County Press Vi was born in Stacy, Minnesota, April 13, 1908. Soon after, the family moved to a farm in Shafer. In 1944 she moved to St. Paul, where she lived with her sister, Ida and Ida's husband Matt Doffing. She worked at 3M for 26 years in the Rewind Dept. until 1970. She moved to her own home in Lindstrom in the fall of 1977 where she lived until 1991 when she moved to Green Acres Country Care. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Jenny Nelson; brothers and sisters: Richard Nelson, Elmer Nelson; Ida Doffing, Elsworth Nelson; Myrtle Nelson, John Nelson, Ethel Gustafson and Margaret Nelson. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Violet was an exceptional cook. None visited her home without being treated to a meal or at the very least coffee with some kind of pies, cakes, bars, cookies or candy. (Most times more than one.). Violet enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables and we all got to reap the benefits of those, too. Besides being a great cook and gardener, she did a lot of crocheting and quilting. Beautiful bedspreads, tablecloths and doilies which have been handed down. She spent many hours quilting with friends. During her stay at Green Acres she won the hearts of both staff and residents and will be missed a great deal by all. Funeral services were held Monday, at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City. Interment at Chisago Lake Cemetery.
