Bio

Annabelle (Blach) Perlenfein was born on June 13, 1931 to Ambrose and Katheine (Brand) Blach at the home place, eight miles north and one mile east of Yuma. She passed away at the age of 77 on July 12, 2008 at the Wray Community Hospital in Wray, Colorado. Annabelle attended school and graduated from Yuma High School with the class of 1949. After graduating she attended the University of Northern Colorado receiving her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Annabelle married Ernie Perlenfein on July 25, 1957. Annabelle taught second grade in the Otis and Yuma Schools retiring after 31 years. Annabelle loved teaching all those years but being at home on the farm and enjoying the farm life with Ernie was her favorite pastime. That same farm was her home for all of her 77 years. She always valued the home place and her memories of her beloved husband and parents. Annabelle was extremely fond of all of her nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with them. Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Katie Blach; her husband, Ernie Perlenfein; sisters, Glora Norwood and Betty Buchkowski; nephews, Craig Willeke and Bernie Blach; nieces, Ann Wegner and Patty Metzler. She is survived by her sisters, Avis Willeke of Otis, Colorado; Bonnie Blach of Denver, Colorado; Joan Gartin of Otis, Colorado and Charlotte Wegner of Houston, Texas; and brother, Perry Blach of Yuma, Colorado along with many nieces, nephews and friends. A Rosary will be on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 7 p.m. and a Funeral Service will be on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 10 a.m. both at St. John's Catholic Church in Yuma with Father Jonathan Dellinger officiating. Interment will be at the Yuma Cemetery. Baucke Funeral Home directed the service. Memorials will be given to the Yuma Community Foundation.--Yuma Pioneer, Thursday, July 17, 2008, Pg. 6
