Charlotte Wegner, daughter of Ambrose and Katherine Blach, was born November 1, 1933 in Yuma, Colorado. She was the youngest of their eight children. She died in Houston, Texas on February 3, 2016. Charlotte was a 1951 graduate of Yuma High School and a 1955 graduate of The University of Northern Colorado at Greeley. She was an elementary teacher in both the Yuma, Colorado and Fairview, Colorado school districts from 1955 through 1960. On June 7, 1958 she married in Boulder, Colorado. Both were from Yuma. They had two daughters. After living in the Denver area for more than 10 years, Charlotte and Weldon moved to Houston, Texas in 1975. Once there Charlotte became a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and was active in their Women's Club. She was also a Preschool teacher at the church for 16 years. Living in Houston gave them a chance to travel throughout the south, develop a love for country music, and spend time relaxing at her most favorite place: Galveston Island. Charlotte enjoyed crafts, playing Scrabble, and laughing with her family. Her enthusiasm and optimistic outlook on life were contagious! Charlotte was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Wegner (in 1989), her parents; all six sisters and their husbands; (Avis and Raymond Willeke, Bonnie Blach, Gloria and George Norwood, Joan and Marion Gartin, Betty and Herbert Buchkowski, Annabelle and Ernie Perlenfein), her one brother (Perry Blach and his wife Teresa), two nephews; Craig Willeke and Bernie Blach, and one niece, Patty Metzler. She is survived by her husband,daughter, grandsons, and 25 nieces and nephews. She will truly be missed! A funeral mass will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Friday, February 19 at 10:30 am. with interment to follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Living Names Omitted Per Find A Grave.
