Greenville (Texas) Herald Banner, Saturday, 4 Jul 1964, page 2, Deaths, Funeral Sunday for Mr. Green Sherman P. Green, 91, life-long resident of Hunt County, died at 3:45 a.m. Friday in a Greenville hospital. He was residing at 2803 Wellington at time of his death. Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Coker - Mathews - Peters Funeral Home Chape (sic), with the Revs. Mr. T. W. Johnson, C. B. Garrett and Earl Kifer officiating. Burial will be in the Tidwell Cemetery. Mr. Green was born Jan. 10, 1873, in Hunt County, the son of F. M. Green and Lina Oaks Green. He married Lillian Eva Ross in 1898 in Hunt County. She preceded him in death on April 2, 1954. Mr. Green, active in community affairs, was a member of Wesley Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Floy Williamson, Mrs. Lois Stapleton, and Mrs. Rogene Moss, all of Greenville; four sons, Raymond Green of Palestine, Burel Green of Longview, and Austin Green of Dallas (sic); a sister, Mrs. Ruth Powell of Greenville and 10 grandchildren. A daughter preceded him in death. Pallbearers will be Lem Warren, Rob Baker, Warren Lee Brumley, Millard Titus, Leon Morgan and Alton Coker.
