Greenville (Texas) Morning Herald, Tuesday, 22 Nov 1955, part 1 page 6 (photo), Marion F. Green Called by Death Death came at 9 a.m. Monday to Marion F. Green, lifelong Hunt County resident who had been in ill health the past nine months. Mr. Green died at his home in the White Rock community – the same in which he spent most of his life and in which he was married to his wife, the former Johnnie Handley, 57 years ago. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the White Rock Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Ridley of Dallas, the Rev. C. B. Fielder of Greenville and the Rev. B. B. Wilson of Wolfe City. Burial will be in Tidwell cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Vernon Green, Conner Green, Roy Green, J. T. Green, Austin Green, John Marion Powell, Harton Green and Glen Green. Mr. Green was born and reared in Hunt County, and since 1913 had been a member of White Rock Methodist Church. He and Mrs. Green were married in September 1898. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Weldon Shields of Greenville and Mrs. Dennis Smith of Wolfe City; two brothers, W. B. Green of Campbell and S. P. Green of this city; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Powell of this city; four grandchildren, Marleta Shields, Greenville and Dennis Smith Jr., Wolfe City and Francine Green and Marion Case Green of El Centro, Calif.; nieces and nephews and one cousin, Arthur Green of White Rock.
