Greenville (Texas) Morning Herald, Saturday, 3 Apr 1954, page 8, [photo captioned MRS. SHERMAN P. GREEN.], Mrs. Sherman Green Succumbs on Friday Mrs. Sherman P. Green, 73, prominent Greenville woman and a resident of Hunt County all of her life, died at 6:15 p.m. Friday at a local hospital. She had been critically ill for several days. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Wesley Methodist Church. Services will be conducted by Rev. John W. Morphis, pastor of Wesley Methodist Church, Rev. C. B. Garrett, pastor of Lee Street Methodist Church and Rev. Robert Ridley. Burial will be in the Tidwell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: W. L. Brumley, Millard Titus, J. R. Barclay, Herman Patterson, Sam Mays and A. W. Hudson, Celeste. Arrangements are in charge of James-Coker-Peters. The body will be taken to her home, 2803 Wellington Street, some time today and will remain there until the hour of the service Sunday. Mrs. Green, the former Lillian Eva Ross, was born on September 20, 1880, the daughter of A. D. Ross and Sarah Majors Ross. She had lived in and around Greenville, Celeste and White Rock all of her life and was loved by a wide circle of friends throughout the couuty. ... ... ...
