Anna Mikulas was born July 18, 1872, in Ashland, Sauders County, Nebraska, where she continued to reside with her parents until her marriage to Joseph Fujan, February 9, 1891, when the couple moved to Saline County, Nebraska, and there engaged in farming. Last fall, Mr. and Mrs. Fujan purchased a home in Milligan and moved therein. The junior son married and continued farming the old home place. Saturday evening, at about 6 o'clock, the sad news came that Mrs. Fujan had passed away, coming to her death by hanging herself from a rafter in a chicken coop. Her husband went to town on an errand early in the afternoon, and upon his return, looked for her around the house and then at the neighbors. Upon further search of the premises, he found the lifeless body, already cold, where the deed had been committed. The deceased is survived by the husband and five children, Charles, William, Frances Laun, Mary Bures and Anna. There also survive her eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Floral and Carrie Coufal. The funeral occurred Monday afternoon, and the body was laid to rest in the south cemetery.
