Thanks to Contributor M. Jensen Seggerman, #47078678, for the following: Josef Fujan was born April 15, 1855 in Koritech, okres Kralovice, kraj Plzensky, Czechoslovakia, Europe. He passed away at the home of his son Charles, January 9, 1943, at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 24 days. he came to this country with his parents in 1876, settling in Saunders county on a homestead. In 1891 he was united in married to Miss Anna Mikulas and in this same year he and his wife settled on a farm five miles east of Milligan. He was devoted to his family and was highly respected by the community in which he lived for fifty-two years. This was attested to by the large concourse of relatives, neighbors and friends who came to pay their last respects. The deceased is survived by sons Charles and William of the Tobias route; daughters, Mrs. Joseph K. (Frances) Laun and Mrs. Charles F. (Anna) Matejka, both of the Tobias route, and Mrs. Tom (Mary) Bures of the Exeter route. he is also survived by eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Anton and Louis Fjuan; sisters, Mrs. Frances Suda and Mrs. Josephine Jansky. His wife preceded him in death April 23, 1927. His sisters, Mrs. Joe Tesar and Mrs. Frank Schultz and brothers James and Frank also preceded him in death. The funeral occurred Monday afternoon from the Milligan auditorium with Rev. K. O. Zavadil of Wilber officiating. The Miligan ladies trio sang. burial was in the south cemetery.
