Bio

Nancy Mae Mathews, 80, Idabel, died Thursday in a Shreveport, La., hospital. Born Jan. 25, 1894, in Stigler, she had lived in the Idabel area for 60 years. She was a member of the Mehtodist church. Surviving are three sons, Jess W. Mathews of Randall, Wash., Jim Mathews and Sam Mathews, both of Idabel; 12 daughters, Gertha Bates and Floy Parker, both of Idabel, Jewell Richardson of Portage, Ind., Maudie Dollarhide, Ester White and Lois Hutchison of Broken Bow, Pauline Bonner and Iris Thompson of Oklahoma City, Jane Brewer of Sunnydale, Cal., Bessie Baxter of Haworth, Juadene Rhoden of Longview, Texas, and Marthel Smith of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Tandy Jones of Idabel; 54 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday in the Redland Methodist Church, with the Rev. Olaf Hoggard officiating.
