Herald Coaster, April 23, 1997: Funeral services for Leroy Edward Pieper, 80, of Needville, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, at the Garmany & Carden Chapel, 1201 Fourth St. in Rosenberg. The Rev. Dale Frankum will officiate the services. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Moore, Leslie Pieper, Chris Stammann, Richard Serena, Sylvester Poncik, and Greg Leslie. Mr. Pieper died on Monday, April 21, 1997, at his residence. He was born on Nov. 15, 1916 in Moulton to parents Fritz J. and Rosie Pieper. He is survived by his brother, Eddie L. Pieper and his wife, Rosie Lee, of Needville; a sister, Evelyn Browning of La Porte; half brothers, Paul and Bernard Vollintine of New Orleans, LA, Otto Pieper of Angleton, Carl Pieper of Rosenberg, Daniel Pieper of Needville, Alfred Pieper of Houston; half sisters, Mary Ann Aaron of La Porte and Emily Kiefer of Metaire, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity or organization. Visitation begins at 6 p.m. on Wed., April 23, at the funeral home. Funeral services are under the direction of Garmany & Carden Funeral Dirs., Inc., 1201 Fourth St. in Rosenberg. 281-342-4671.
