Herald Coaster, January 23, 1968: Funeral services for John Pieper, 82, of Richmond, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Garmany & Co. Chapel in Rosenberg. Rev. Richard C. Mumme, pastor of the First English Lutheran Church of Damon, will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Pieper, a retired farmer who had resided six years at Richmond, died Monday night in Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Pieper; six sons, Otto Pieper of Angleton, Daniel Pieper and Eddie L. Pieper, both of Needville, Leroy Pieper of Richmond, Carl Pieper of Rosenberg, and Alfred Pieper of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Arron and Mrs. Bennie Browning, both of La Porte; two sisters, Mrs. Meta Othold of Houston and Mrs. Helen Sasse of San Antonio; a half-sister, Miss Hertha Pieper of Houston; three half-brothers, Henry Pieper, Bill Pieper, and Herbert Pieper, all of Houston; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. ******************************************************************************************** Herald Coaster, January 28, 1968: Funeral services for Fritz J. Mr. Pieper passed away Monday night in Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital. He was a farmer until his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Fritz Pieper of Richmond; six sons, Otto Pieper of Angleton, Eddie Pieper and Daniel Pieper, both of Needville, Leroy Pieper of Richmond, Carl Pieper of Rosenberg, and Alfred Pieper of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Arron and Mrs. Bennie Browning, both of La Porte; two sisters, Mrs. Meta Othold of Houston and Mrs. Helen Sasse of San Antonio; a step-sister, Miss Hertha Pieper of Houston; three step-brothers, Henry Pieper, Bill Pieper, and Herbert Pieper, all of Houston; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Funeral services were under the direction of Garmany & Co.
