Albert P. Schutte, 85, of Sheridan died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Mr. Schutte was born Oct. 13, 1915, in Sterling, Colo., to Joseph and Olympe (LeBlanc) Schutte. He grew up and attended schools in Sterling. After coming to the Sheridan area, he ranched and did various jobs. He married Mary Suel April 1, 1937, in Gillette. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad until 1977 when he retired as an engineer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, traveling and playing cards. He was a member of Eagles Lodge #186 and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He loved being with his family. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy, and two brothers, Daniel and William. Survivors include his wife, of Sheridan; four sons, Richard of Arvada, Colo., and Albert, James and Robert, all of Sheridan; three daughters, Rose Kraft, Madonna Rowe and Ruby Gieselman, all of Sheridan; five brothers, Arthur of Greybull, Raymond of Brush, Colo., Bernard of Veradale, Wash., George of Monroe, Wis., and Joseph of Denver; five sisters, Delores Chambers of Anniston, Ala., Margaret Stewart of Denver, Vivian Raines of Tempe, Ariz., Geniveve Dale of Westminster, Colo., and Yvonne Schroer of Littleton, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Deacon Joe Kristufek officiating.
