From the Bryan-College Station (TX) Daily Eagle , Friday, September 6, 1974, p. 8B: Funeral services for Joe Krenek, 78, of 2108 Echols, Bryan will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Forest Whitworth of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in College Station Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel. Mr. Krenek died Thursday morning in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 5, 1896 in Ennis and had been a lifetime resident of Brazos County. He was a retired paint contractor, a member of the Bryan American Legion Post 195, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a member of S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 39, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War I. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emma Krenek of Bryan; one son, Ernest J. Krenek of Houston; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Krenek, Bryant Krenek, Hugo Krenek, Richard Patrick, Frankie Zemanek, John Edward Sebesta, and John Bravenec.
