Bio

Mrs. Albin passed away at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk. Mary "Marie" Hilda (Anderly) Albin was born near Dwight, NE. Marie graduated from Dwight Assumption High School in 1942, attended Dickinson Secretarial School in Lincoln and worked at Omaha Boys Town. During World War II, after receiving Civil Service Rating, she worked at the Army Depot offices in Fort Crook until the war was over. She married James C. Albin in 1945. They had 6 children. Marie raised her 6 children while being a popular waitress for many years, in Columbus at the Husker House, in Norfolk at Giovanni's, and later the Holiday Inn Restaurant. She retired, finally, from the Lutheran Faith Regional Hospital dietary kitchen. Marie volunteered at many places: NCC Lifelong Learning Center, teaching English as second language; 8 years as an advocate for a special needs individual; 3 years hotline for troubled persons; and years reading at elder care facilities. Marie is survived by her proud children and their families, (5 sons; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren): Ronald J., Norfolk, granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Elizabeth and Mus-tafa Rafique, Houston, TX; and grandson, Michael, Lincoln; Mark D., Norfolk, his wife Carlene, grandsons, Eric and Greg, and granddaughter, Emily; James J., Norfolk, his wife Jeny, grandsons, Addison, Jaxson, Christian and wife Carla Morton, granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Elizabeth and Ian Wollman, and great grandson Rhys; Steven F., Rogers, AR, and his wife Nancy; Jerry C., York, NE, his wife Tana, granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Chandra and Kyle Stewart, and great grandson Daniel, granddaugh-ters, Laela, MacKenzie, grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Kaden and Jennifer, and great grandchildren, Anabell and Abel, and grandsons, Nolen and Dallas, all of York; daughter, Mary Jo and son-in-law Claude Oie, Lincoln; sister Lillian Belsan, Omaha; brother Emil Anderly, David City; loving sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces; nephews; friends and admirers. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband James. FUNERAL SERVICES 10:30am Monday, June 20, at First Christian Church in Norfolk, with Pastor Jeff Schipper officiating. VISITATION 4-7pm Sunday at Home for Funerals. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
