Columbus Telegram - August 05, 2014 7:50 am DAVID CITY -- Emil J. Anderly, 97, of David City, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014, at St. Joseph's Villa. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in David City, with Fr. Bernard Kimminau officiating. Viewing will be Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with a 10 a.m. rosary service all at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Masses have been suggested to Masses of Family Wishes. Emil was born on May 1, 1917, to Joseph and Mary (Stoupa) Anderly in Dwight. He was united in marriage to Louise Hein on July 22, 1941, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. Emil served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 12, 1942, to Feb. 14, 1946, during WWII, and was a member of the VFW for several years. He worked as Manager for the David City Auditorium and Parks for many years. Emil is survived by his children, Tudi Connell, of Euless, Texas, Budd Anderly, of Jerome, Idaho, Max (Ernie) Greenwald, of Omaha, Don Anderly, of San Diego, California, Denny (Sylvia) Anderly, of San Diego, California, and Rosemary (Gary) Greenlee, of Ovilla, Texas; sister, Lillian Belson, of Omaha; seven grandchildren, Rob Connell, Jeff Connell, Kelli (Matt) Carrick, Joe (Christina) Greenwald, Lyndsey (Mike) Safford, Mandy (Shawn) Berry, Brad Greenlee; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise, in 2002; siblings, Joseph Anderly, John Anderly, Jim Anderly and Marie Albin. Arrangements by Chermok Funeral Home of David City.
